Norway (Oslo): Vigeland Sculpture Park

The sculpture park that we finished off our time together in Norway with will probably be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and click on the link to learn about it, because I don't really have words to describe it.

Norway (Oslo): The Viking Ship and Kon-Tiki Museums

The Oseberg Ship (ca. 800 CE)

The Kon-Tiki Museum is all about this guy and ended up being a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.

Norway (Oslo): The Resistance Museum

After recouping with a nap from taking the night train back from Bergan to Oslo...

...we hit up the first of many Oslo museums that we would go to: Norway's WWII Resistance Museum (Norges Hjemmefront Museum)

Norway (Bergan)

Mostly going to be links to what the wife-ish has already wrote since she hasn't finished writing about the whole trip either...also since it's been almost a year and other than...

1. being very happy to see the wife-ish
2. having to be very money-conscience, and
3. having a great great great time

...I don't have a whole lot of explicit memories* that can't just be summed up with the pictures.

So here we go:

First off, a little reference courtesy of the CIA World Factbook. Oslo is the capital that I flew into and met the wife-ish at. The day after I flew in we traveled by train (and boat) over to the Atlantic coast to Bergan. After a couple of days there, we took the night train back to Oslo and spent the rest of our time together there. After she left to get back home to study for finals I stayed for a couple more days and visited family near Kristiansand.

So here are links to the first portion of the the trip, I will pick up after this post with our time in Oslo. Enjoy.

*other than messing up A.M. and P.M. for my scheduling my flight out of Berlin and making the wife-ish wait roughly thirteen hours in order to finally meet me at the hotel in Oslo.

A Year Later

Hello,

My apologies to anyone who was consistently reading. Didn't mean to drop off the face of the planet like that, but life got in the way with posting on the last portion of the trip.

I will finish up with what I remember of the trip here soon, but I would also like to announce that this blog will become something different very soon and should be seeing a bit more activity in the months to come.

For those of you who have followed this through Europe and haven't totally given up on me...just wanted to let you know that I appreciate it.

...Now, where were we? Oh yes...Norway.

Cartomorphology

IF this works:

You will see my final project from Animated Cartography. I wanted to get it up so that there was some sort of independent publishing date.

if it doesn't, well, sorry...hope you're having a good day.

Guess it doesn't work exactly the way I wanted it to, but you get an idea at least.

Not counting Lay-overs.
